GALLERY RE-OPENS
ON JUNE 1, 2013 FOR THE SUMMER SEASON

Motoko invites you to view her new work and to enjoy the ambiance of her gallery and garden, as she re-opens her gallery to the public for the summer season, starting June 1st.

In 2012, Motoko introduced a new line of small scale encaustic paintings. “Encaustic painting is an ancient art form using a mixture of beeswax and damar resin,” Motoko explains. “Fluidity, translucence, warmth, and luminosity are qualities I find interesting in this form. It is wonderfully versatile to work and experiment with, especially in adding sculptural elements and other media.” She also created many large scale pieces where texture and the interplay of colours ventured into the realm of water and light.  This new body of work was unveiled at the Opening Reception on July 15, 2012.  For a glimpse of some of the major pieces in this new collection, please click here.

Motoko’s Fine Art Gallery & Studio is one of the must-see spots on the Sunshine Coast.  It is located at 4590 Sinclair Bay Road in Garden Bay, Pender Harbour, BC.  The gallery is open by appointment during the winter season. For contact information, map and directions, please click here.
